Infrared process
Exhibition of experimental photography. A collection of photos edited as infrared recordings.
Aerochrome is a type of photography film that captures infrared light. This film has been out of production for years due to a lack of demand. Slowly but surely, more and more people are starting to convert digital cameras so that they can capture the same effect digitally. Because this is a rather drastic process (a layer has to be removed from the camera sensor), I started experimenting with this effect through digital photo manipulation. To discover what photographing in infrared looks like. The next step will be actually converting a camera, but for now it’s a collection of landscapes, skate photography, and other work edited to look like they were shot on old Aerochrome film. This collection complements the theme because there are still few people who photograph in infrared. It is, however, a trend that is starting to gain momentum. Hence, it fits both themes.
