MANON STOELTIE

Amended

I was faced with the pressure of constantly producing new things. Instead of creating for the sake of creating and consuming material, I wanted to explore ways to design with existing resources, inspired by shapes and materials from the street.

“Amended” consists of a set of unique furniture, made from recycled polystyrene packaging.

The reuse of packaging gives it a new function and value. They become useful, while remaining somewhat recognizable as waste products of the consumptive -, unsustainable – and destructive manufacturing processes.

Instead of mastering the development of new sustainable products, I see this project as a way to initiate a dialogue about consuming, making and valuing.
