ENBefore scales, recipes and rulers, there was Agak-Agak, a way of knowing by feel. Rooted in memory, intuition and the body, it asks: when did we stop trusting what our hands already know?

02 Cor Unum & Residence, Ralf Gloudemans

ENCor Unum is a ceramic studio in ’s-Hertogenbosch where craftsmanship, inclusion and design come together. For over 70 years, it has brought together designers, craftspeople, students, volunteers and people distanced from the labour market. During his Designer in Residence at Cor Unum, Ralf Gloudemans explored the relationship between digital sculpture and ceramic craftsmanship, developing new objects through VR, 3D software and ceramic techniques.

NLCor Unum is een keramisch atelier in ’s-Hertogenbosch waar vakmanschap, inclusie en design samenkomen. Al meer dan 70 jaar brengt het ontwerpers, vakmensen, studenten, vrijwilligers en mensen met een afstand tot de arbeidsmarkt samen. Tijdens zijn Designer in Residence bij Cor Unum onderzocht Ralf Gloudemans de relatie tussen digitale sculptuur en keramisch vakmanschap. Daarbij ontwikkelde hij nieuwe objecten met behulp van VR, 3D-software en keramische technieken.

06 The Essence of Time

ENThe essence of time brings together Sixty-twelve clocks’ work: handcrafted clocks that move in discrete steps rather than a continuous sweep. The rings turn to the next minute, then come to rest until it’s time to move again. Finished in walnut, bronze and other materials, these clocks let visitors experience time as something calm and physical.

NLThe essence of time brengt het werk van Sixty-twelve clocks samen: handgemaakte klokken die in afzonderlijke stappen bewegen in plaats van in één doorlopende beweging. De ringen draaien door naar de volgende minuut en komen dan tot rust, tot het weer tijd is om te bewegen. Afgewerkt in walnoot, brons en andere materialen laten deze klokken bezoekers tijd ervaren als iets rustigs en tastbaars.

07 Gamolution

ENGamolution is a living simulation of society. Give AI characters human-like minds (emotion, memory, the urge to learn from each other), set simple rules, and watch worlds form on their own: cooperation, inequality, culture, conflict. Nothing is scripted. It’s a place to ask “what if?” and actually watch the answer unfold.

NLGamolution is een levende simulatie van de samenleving. Geef AI-personages een menselijke geest (emotie, geheugen, de drang om van elkaar te leren), stel eenvoudige regels op en kijk hoe werelden zich vanzelf vormen: samenwerking, ongelijkheid, cultuur, conflict. Niets is gescript. Het is een plek om “wat als?” te vragen en het antwoord écht te zien ontvouwen.

09 Maurice la chaise: chair design as ethic, not aesthetic.

ENMaurice la chaise is a stackable chair designed specifically, but not exclusively, to be made from reclaimed wood. Its parts are intended for efficient manufacturing by assembling offcuts from industrial production. Its concept follows an ethic, not just an aesthetic: design in service of daily life, using materials in their raw state, and produced through methods that enable an intuitive relation between subject and object.

NLMaurice la chaise is een stapelbare stoel, speciaal (maar niet uitsluitend) ontworpen om van hergebruikt hout te worden gemaakt. De onderdelen zijn bedoeld voor efficiënte productie door reststukken uit industriële productie samen te voegen. Het concept volgt een ethiek, niet alleen een esthetiek: design in dienst van het dagelijks leven, met materialen in hun ruwe staat, geproduceerd via methoden die een intuïtieve relatie tussen subject en object mogelijk maken.

10 Human Body = Garden

ENHuman Body = Garden is a series of 10 workshops situated in a tactile installation. The workshops are moments to exchange plant knowledge, to travel through a series of ritualistic actions with the seeds, and to set individual and group intentions based on the shared findings of seed properties and benefits.

11 Atelier JORDAN ARTISAN ReConstruction

ENA ReConstruction takes place in the atelier. Jordan reshapes the unruly, industrial remnants into a new form. At the intersection of sculpture and design, he transforms the monumental rubble into everyday objects. A chair, a lamp, repeated and arranged into a monumental rock formation. It is an installation in which destruction solidifies into a tranquil aesthetic.

NLIn het atelier vindt een ReConstruction plaats. Jordan geeft de weerbarstige, industriële restanten een nieuwe vorm. Op het snijvlak van beeldhouwkunst en design transformeert hij het monumentale puin tot alledaagse objecten. Een stoel, een lamp, herhaald en geschikt tot een monumentale rotsformatie. Een installatie waarin vernietiging stolt tot een serene esthetiek.

ENMade from materials normally discarded once their primary function has been fulfilled, People Pleasers is a series of lamps made from George Baïda’s personal consumption. By only adding metal parts that keep the package’s shape and constraints at the center of attention and working around those shapes, the work reflects on value, domesticity and consumerism.

NLPeople Pleasers is een serie lampen, gemaakt van materialen die normaal worden weggegooid zodra hun primaire functie is vervuld, afkomstig uit George Baïda’s eigen consumptie. Door alleen metalen onderdelen toe te voegen die de vorm en beperkingen van de verpakking centraal houden, en rondom die vormen te werken, reflecteert het werk op waarde, huiselijkheid en consumentisme.

ENLIGHT FORM brings together emerging design studios from Kosovo to explore how materials shape light. Presented by Design Kosova, the exhibition connects handcrafted recycled paper, stainless steel, glass and 3D printing through sculptural lamps. Contrasting textures and playful geometries invite to look closer at the relationship between light, form and the process of making.

NLLIGHT FORM brengt opkomende ontwerpstudio’s uit Kosovo samen om te onderzoeken hoe materialen licht vormgeven. De tentoonstelling, georganiseerd door Design Kosova, verbindt handgemaakt gerecycled papier, roestvrij staal, glas en 3D-printtechnieken via sculpturale lampen. Contrasterende texturen en speelse geometrische vormen nodigen uit om de relatie tussen licht, vorm en het maakproces van dichterbij te bekijken.
